HRWorks allows creation of file folders for online storage of files - employee letters, policy documents, payroll files, investment proof, etc. A user can access the folder (if authorized) by logging into HRWorks at any point. Alternatively, users can create a mirror of a file folder in HRWorks on their local computer and access it along with their other folders on File Explorer. This can be useful if you wish to make a copy of a file folder (available in HRWorks) as a backup on your computer. HRWorks uses a technology called Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) to enable this.

This facility can be used only on Windows 10 operating system.

How to access HRWorks folders using WebDAV on a Windows 10 PC

  1. From the Start Menu go to File Explorer and select This PC on the left hand pane

  2. Select Computer from the top ribbon

  3. Click on Map Network Drive

  4. You will see a pop-up window called "Map Network Drive." Enter https://dav.hinote.in/dav in the "folder" field and click on Finish.

On the above screenshot, we have chosen to map the HRWorks folders to Z: drive on the local computer. You can choose any other drive for this purpose.

  5. On the "Windows Security" window, enter the user name and password as per the below format.

    Username: <HRWorks User ID>#<Company Name>
The <HRWorks User ID>  refers to the user ID you use to login to HRWorks, followed by the hash (#) symbol followed by your company name used for HRWorks login purpose.

    Password: Your HRWorks login password.

On the above screenshot, 001 refers to the user's HRWorks user ID and xyzco is the user's company name.

Please select the Remember my credentials checkbox and click on OK. If the Remember my credentials checkbox is left unchecked, you will have to supply the login information every time you wish to access a folder. If you are accessing HRWorks folders from a computer which is used by others, please do not leave the Remember my credentials checkbox checked.

6. You will be able to see all the HRWorks folders (to which you have access authorization) on the File Explorer screen.

Whenever you click on any of the HRWorks folders on your computer, folder will get updated and the latest file versions (available on HRWorks) will be automatically displayed inside the local folder.

Please  note that what you see on the File Explorer is only a mirror - the folders are not physically stored on your computer by default. You have click on a folder/file and copy and paste the same on your computer in order to make a physical copy.
